Mid-Century Sound started as a hobby in the UK 10 years ago when my wife sent me a photo of a vintage stereo console and asked if I had an idea what this cool antique was? It looked vaguely familiar and after some research, it was identified as a Blaupunkt "Arkansas" Radiogram (as they are called in the UK) and it was the exact same model that we used to listen to in my parent's lounge!
Although I was thousands of miles away in the US, we bought it and Numero Uno is still with us today playing away in our living room. Since then I have serviced, restored and sold 400+ consoles and although I have always had an electronics background while working in the film industry, hunting down consoles for restoration and diagnosing and repairing them is now my passion.
